Sparky's Light Kit

Getting our supplies out.
Sparky's Light Kit was a kit that allowed us to go on adventures through the science of light and power!  As part of our unit learning about electricity and heat, we made circuits.  It was really fun!

We worked in groups of three to make a light bulb light up.  Each kit had a battery, a wire, and a light bulb.  It was a challenge to get the bulb to light!

After we got good at lighting a bulb, we made home made switches using the same materials, plus some extra wires and paperclips.  We learned a lot and had fun!
Working together to try to light the bulb.

Historical Museum

When we got into the Historical Museum we were amazed with all the things. We got to see how they use mine. Also we went in a giant elevator to see how they traveled. They talked about what they used and their materials. We learned a lot about African Americans.

There was a lot to see and learn about people in the past. It’s really interesting to see all the things that they used which we don’t. It was really fun upstairs. Then we went downstairs in the elevator.

Flags!

The winning flag!  It is hanging on the board.

On Monday September, 16, 2013 our class decided that we needed a classroom flag.  A lot were very good, but only one could be the almighty flag that stands on the right on the white board.

A Flag had to include many things.  Some things included the class name, everyone in it, the room number, etc.  A lot of people had a good flag.  But Jordan’s flag was the one that won.  Mine was good, but I think Jordan deserves to win.

Our Classroom Preamble

Everybody knows the preamble is the beginning of the Declaration of Independence. It stated what the presidents will do to make a better country.

Everybody who lives in the USA knows the constitution. It started with the preamble. The constitution states the freedom and justice for all. We made our own preamble that states how our classroom is and how we will behave. Check it out!
